When Scratched Window Repair Goes Wrong – Nobody’s Happy 

When scratched glass happens at the happiest place on earth, nobody’s happy!  When this iconic hotel in Anaheim, CA hired a competitor to remove scratches and polish the glass from their blue glass windows, there was still very noticeable haze and swirls in the glass. This was what happened during glass polishing in Anaheim. Why Some Window Restoration Companies Leave Haze and Swirls After Resurfacing

Where there is haze, there are swirls.   Where there are swirls, there are scratches.  So when you can see haze in resurfaced glass, it’s because there are still scratches and swirls remaining.  One solution we developed to alleviate this resurfacing issue is to use premium abrasives throughout the resurface process.  Additionally, we rarely use 80 grit silicon carbide on most glass resurface projects.  Too aggressive of a grit does substantial subsurface damage to the glass which is more difficult to get perfect, without leaving haze seen from below
 
We now utilize a more controlled restoration process that removes scratched glass quickly whiloe using a much finer abrasive.  This has almost completely removed the liklihood of residual swirls and haze after a glass resurfacing project.  Also, we are using a highly aggressive glass polishing formulation .  I larger particle size with some other additives makes for a faster polish step along with a near flawless finish.
